Preparations for the Char Dham Yatra

The Uttarakhand government has confirmed that all logistics and security arrangements are in place for the Char Dham Yatra, which is set to commence on April 23. Following extensive inspections and review meetings, officials reported an unprecedented interest from pilgrims worldwide. According to Uttarakhand's Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, the number of registrations has nearly reached 1.8 million.

He provided detailed registration figures, indicating that there are 370,295 registrations for Yamunotri, 316,006 for Gangotri, 619,959 for Kedarnath, 527,227 for Badrinath, and 17,171 for Hemkund Sahib, totaling 1,787,658 pilgrims.

Logistical Support for Pilgrims

Addressing potential logistical challenges, Maharaj reassured pilgrims that essential services, including cooking gas and food supplies, have been secured for the entire duration of the pilgrimage. He noted the excitement among the public and confirmed that concerns regarding the availability of cooking gas and food have been resolved, ensuring that these services will be accessible throughout the journey.

Invitation to Pilgrims

The minister affirmed that the pilgrimage will proceed as planned and extended an invitation to everyone to visit Uttarakhand to fulfill their spiritual aspirations. This announcement follows a series of thorough inspections conducted by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. On April 16, Dhami personally inspected the Kedarnath highway and other key transit points to assess the quality of infrastructure and facilities available for travelers.

Comprehensive Travel Management

He stated that the Char Dham Yatra is about to begin, and he is conducting site inspections to ensure all preparations are complete. The state is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims from across the country and around the world, with all necessary arrangements in place. The facilities will be excellent, ensuring a successful Char Dham Yatra. In addition to infrastructure, the state has adopted a comprehensive approach to travel management. Earlier this week, Chief Minister Dhami chaired a review meeting in Nainital, focusing on enhancing security in narrow mountain passes, implementing safety measures for pilgrims traversing forest-adjacent routes, and ensuring smooth traffic flow and emergency medical services.
