Uttarakhand CM Launches Development Projects Worth Over ₹33 Crores in Khatima
Major Development Initiatives Unveiled
On Wednesday, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in an event in Khatima, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for nine development projects totaling ₹33 crores and 36 lakhs. This information was shared through an official statement. Among these initiatives is the newly constructed high-tech Maharana Pratap bus station, built at a cost of ₹11 crores and 27 lakhs by the District Development Authority.
Beautification Projects Announced
The Chief Minister also announced plans for the beautification of the Balaji Temple located in Nanakmata. Additionally, renovation work will be carried out at the Brahmadev Temple near the Lohiya Bridge in Khatima. Improvements will also be made to the Devbhoomi Dharamshala, which will include new rooms, a hall, and further beautification efforts. The statement further mentioned that the Sonukhari-Kishanpur-Barkidandi-Kaithula-Tukdi road will be developed as a hot-mix road.
Infrastructure Enhancements
The Chief Minister inaugurated the high-tech Maharana Pratap bus station and also launched water supply projects, including tube wells, overhead tanks, and pipeline works, costing ₹48.45 lakhs in wards 7 and 8. Furthermore, residential buildings for revenue inspectors and sub-inspectors in the Nanakmata assembly area were inaugurated, with a total expenditure of ₹490.21 lakhs. The construction of office buildings for sub-inspectors, costing ₹359.91 lakhs, was also completed, along with drainage works leading from the lake in Majhola village to Poliganj, amounting to ₹225.62 lakhs.
Community Development Projects
In the Khatima area, projects worth ₹499.65 lakhs for the installation of 300 hand pumps were announced. Additionally, a new bus terminal in Khatima will feature the Maharana Pratap Gate, constructed at a cost of ₹29.65 lakhs. Modern toilets will also be built for ₹24.50 lakhs, and the Tharu Inter College in Khatima will undergo reconstruction at a cost of ₹95 lakhs. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed that the inauguration of the state-of-the-art bus stand, built at a cost exceeding ₹11 crores, is a significant achievement for the region, especially during the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti and Ghughutia festival. He emphasized that the establishment of this bus stand, which he had advocated for multiple times, will enhance transportation, boost local trade, tourism, and create new employment opportunities, thereby accelerating regional development.
