Uttarakhand's Social Welfare Initiatives

On Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a state-level awareness and orientation program held at the IRDT auditorium in Survey Chowk, Dehradun.

During this event, he transferred a pension amount of ₹176.59 crores to the accounts of 974,338 beneficiaries. According to an official statement, the Chief Minister also administered an oath for a drug-free society and the respect and care for senior citizens.

Addressing the state-level awareness workshop, the Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative will play a crucial role in delivering social welfare benefits to the most marginalized individuals in society. He highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring that every eligible person receives the benefits of welfare schemes without discrimination, delay, or hindrance.

He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas," welfare initiatives have significantly expanded across the country. Programs such as the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and free ration schemes have benefited millions. Additionally, initiatives like Stand-Up India, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, PM Svanidhi, Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, and the National Livelihood Mission have created opportunities for self-employment and economic empowerment for marginalized communities.
