Uttarakhand Board Examination Results Announced
Dehradun/Pithoragarh: In a remarkable achievement, girls have outperformed boys in the Uttarakhand board examinations, with results released on Saturday showing an increase in pass rates for both Class X and Class XII, according to officials.
During the announcement at the board's headquarters in Ramnagar, Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat highlighted that the Class XII pass rate has climbed to 85.11%, reflecting a 1.88% rise from the previous year.
He expressed pride in the dedication shown by teachers and students, and personally congratulated the successful candidates, even reaching out to the top performers via phone.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also extended his congratulations to the students, emphasizing that the results are a reflection of their hard work and discipline. He encouraged those who may not have met their expectations to stay resilient.
In his official statement, Dhami reassured them that success would come with perseverance and a positive mindset.
Out of 100,452 students who took the Class XII Board exams, 85,499 passed, with girls achieving a pass rate of 88.09% compared to 81.93% for boys, as reported by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education.
Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Sushila Mehndiratta from Udham Singh Nagar topped the intermediate exams with an impressive 98% score.
Geetika, whose father drives a taxi, dreams of becoming an engineer to help others. Despite financial challenges, she previously excelled in Class X with 97.6%.
She remarked, "With family support and guidance from dedicated teachers, financial limitations do not matter." Her mother, Ritika Pant, emphasized that they never allowed resource constraints to hinder Geetika's aspirations.
Aryan from Rishikesh secured the second position with 97.80%, while Vanshika from Haridwar came in third with 97%.
The high school pass percentage also saw a rise of 1.33% from last year, with 108,983 students appearing and 100,373 passing. Girls achieved a remarkable 96.07% pass rate, significantly higher than the 88.03% for boys.
Akshat Gopal from Ramnagar topped the high school board with 98.20%, while Ishant Kothari from Uttarkashi and Bhumika from Nainital shared the second spot with 98%. Yogesh Joshi from Bageshwar secured third place with 97.80%.
Bageshwar was recognized as the top-performing district in the state, achieving a pass rate of 94.84% in intermediate and 96.98% in high school.
Additionally, the board announced results for the secondary improvement examinations of 2025, with high school improvement showing a 68.67% pass rate and intermediate improvement at 66.27%.
Minister Rawat later visited the home of high school topper Akshat Gopal in Ramnagar to personally congratulate him, accompanied by local MLA Diwan Singh Bisht and senior officials from the education department.
