International Film City Project Takes Shape

The ambitious 'International Film City' project, spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is now gaining tangible progress. Located in the Jewar area of Gautam Buddha Nagar, this marks Uttar Pradesh's inaugural International Film City, where the filming of 'Mom-2' is set to commence. Initial preparations for the shooting within the film city premises have already begun.

The joint venture between renowned Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and the Bhutanese Group, known as Beview Bhutanese Film City Private Limited, has initiated land mapping for the project. Officials indicate that once the mapping is completed, shooting sets will be ready within approximately 20 days, paving the way for the film's production to start.

Collaboration and Project Developments

It is noteworthy that the International Film City initiative is a collaborative effort between acclaimed filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the Bhutanese Group. They have signed an agreement with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Following the approval of the layout plan by YEIDA, preparations for the project's first phase have accelerated.

Rajeev Arora, General Manager of Beview Bhutanese Film City Project, stated that alongside the shooting preparations, construction of the film city is also underway. After the completion of land mapping, shooting sets will be established within about 20 days, allowing film-related activities to commence. The construction of the film city will also begin, with a formal inauguration expected soon by CM Yogi and PM Modi.

Aiming for Entertainment Hub Status

The International Film City is being developed in Sector-21 along the Yamuna Expressway. This project is a significant initiative by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aimed at transforming Uttar Pradesh into a national and international hub for the film, OTT, and web series industries. Situated near the Jewar International Airport, this film city is set to establish the state as an entertainment and aviation hub, equipped with modern infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and world-class amenities.

Industry experts believe that the upcoming shooting of films like 'Mom-2' before the official launch of the film city signals a growing confidence in Uttar Pradesh's film policy and infrastructure within the film industry. This project has the potential to emerge as a strong alternative to other film production centers in the country, including Mumbai.
