Government Land Reclaimed in Sambhal District

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh): In a significant operation on Friday, authorities demolished a mosque and a madrassa located on government-designated land in Mubarakpur Band village, which had been officially categorized as a playground and compost pit site.

The demolition was executed under the supervision of District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar.

According to Naib Tehsildar Bablu Kumar, the land in question is classified as government property, specifically recorded for recreational and agricultural purposes.

Initially, local residents were requested to dismantle the structures themselves. However, when they were unable to do so, they sought assistance from the authorities.

As a result, the illegal encroachments were removed using heavy machinery, including bulldozers and JCBs.

"We are in the process of creating a land bank and are actively removing encroachments throughout the district," stated the naib tehsildar.

Superintendent Kumar explained that, following administrative orders to establish a 'land bank' in each village, a thorough inventory of encroachments has been compiled over the last six months.

This inventory was developed through a detailed survey conducted in collaboration with the district magistrate, police, and local officials.

All instances of encroachment on government land have been documented, and efforts to demolish these illegal structures and reclaim the land are currently ongoing.

In the past six months, around 125 hectares of land have been successfully reclaimed and allocated for various government initiatives.

The Superintendent also mentioned that similar actions to clear encroachments in other villages are planned.
