Chitrakoot Link Expressway Initiative

The government of Uttar Pradesh is set to initiate the construction of the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, with an estimated budget of Rs 514 crore. This project aims to enhance connectivity between Chitrakoot and the Bundelkhand Expressway through improved road infrastructure. A press release from the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) revealed that the project map has been finalized, and construction is anticipated to commence in July.

This greenfield expressway will span a total length of 15.175 kilometers and is projected to be completed within 18 months. Initially designed as a four-lane road, there are plans to expand it to six lanes in the future, according to UPEIDA.

The expressway has been engineered to accommodate vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 120 km/h. The main roadway will have a width of 40 meters, with several sections featuring a 3.75-meter-wide service road. Additionally, a service road measuring 200 meters in length and seven meters in width will be constructed near the bridges. The project will also incorporate modern amenities, including a primary road, an advanced drainage system, lighting on 10-meter high poles, 30-meter high mast lights on access roads, and clear lane markings. UPEIDA has announced that the development of the master plan and detailed project report (DPR) will begin in July.
