Lucknow, August 1 - Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak, as well as Police Chief Rajeev Krishna, extended their congratulations to Asmita Day, a sub-inspector with the Uttar Pradesh Police, for winning the gold medal in the women's 48 kg judo event at the Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow, Scotland. In a message shared on social media, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed, 'Heartfelt congratulations to Asmita Day for bringing pride to India by winning the gold medal in the women's 48 kg judo category at the Commonwealth Games 2026.'

He further stated, 'This golden achievement symbolizes the indomitable courage, discipline, determination, and hard work of our daughters, making every Indian proud. I wish for Asmita Day's journey of success to continue.'

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also took to social media to congratulate both Asmita Day and Harsh Singh, who secured a gold medal in the men's 60 kg judo event.

Maurya remarked, 'Congratulations to Asmita Day for her gold medal in the women's 48 kg judo event and to Harsh Singh for his achievement in the men's 60 kg judo event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.' Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak echoed similar sentiments, congratulating Asmita Day on her gold medal win and wishing her success in the future.
