Gangster Neutralized in Muzaffarnagar Encounter

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police successfully eliminated a notorious sharpshooter associated with the Sanjeev Jiwa gang during an encounter in Muzaffarnagar district on Monday. This information was confirmed by a senior police official.

According to Amitabh Yash, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order/STF), the STF's Meerut unit engaged in a confrontation in the Chapar police area of Muzaffarnagar early in the morning, resulting in the apprehension of a dangerous shooter identified as Shahrukh Pathan, a resident of Khalapar in Muzaffarnagar.

During the encounter, Pathan sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. Yash noted that Pathan was a sharpshooter for the Sanjeev Jiwa gang, which had previously lost its leader to a shooting incident during a court appearance in Lucknow about two years ago.

The STF reported that they recovered a .30 mm Beretta pistol, a .32 mm Ordinance revolver, a locally made 9 mm pistol, an unregistered vehicle, and 65 cartridges from Pathan's possession. He was wanted in over six cases of murder and extortion across Muzaffarnagar, Sambhal, and Haridwar.
