Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad Affirms Alliance with BJP for 2027 Elections
Alliance Based on Reservation Issues
Sanjay Nishad, a minister from Uttar Pradesh, stated that the alliance between his party and the BJP for the upcoming 2027 elections is fundamentally rooted in the issue of reservation. He criticized the Samajwadi Party for shutting the door on the community's demands, leading to their departure from the alliance. Acknowledging the BJP's efforts to honor the community's heritage and establish a separate fisheries ministry, Nishad emphasized their ongoing support for reservation and insisted that the ruling party must fulfill this primary promise to demonstrate its commitment.
Concerns Over Reservation
Nishad shared his past experience with the Samajwadi Party, explaining that they closed the door on him, prompting his exit. He pointed out that they did not address his concerns regarding reservation, which remains a priority for his party. He highlighted issues such as the Tal-Ghat rivers and the education of their liberated tribes, which fall under the jurisdiction of both the central and state governments. He noted that there was a previous perception that the BJP was against reservation, but they have since provided 10% reservation to Uttar Pradesh.
BJP's Commitment to Reservation
Nishad reiterated that the BJP has dispelled the notion of being anti-reservation by granting 10% reservation to higher castes and 33% to women. He expressed his role as a proponent of reservation and is awaiting the BJP's response regarding when they will take action on this matter. He stated that discussions about moving forward will only arise once the BJP addresses these concerns. Nishad emphasized that the BJP must clarify when they will implement reservation policies, expressing confidence that they are working on significant steps towards this goal.
Continued Alliance with BJP
Confirming the continuation of his party's alliance with the BJP, Nishad stated, "From today, my party stands with the BJP." He reiterated this sentiment, recalling that during the last elections, many had left the alliance. However, when the honorable Home Minister reached out to him, he affirmed his identity as a descendant of Nishadraj and a friend of Lord Ram. He expressed pride in being part of a community with a glorious history and emphasized their commitment to dignified politics.
