The Uttar Pradesh Hockey team, led by captain Ketan Kushwaha, celebrated a significant victory at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men's National Championship 2026 held in Rajgir. They showcased a commanding performance, defeating Hockey Madhya Pradesh with a score of 5-2 in the final match, highlighting the state's rising prominence in grassroots hockey development.

Ketan Kushwaha expressed his joy over the win, noting that his early goal just four minutes into the game set a positive tone for the team. He emphasized that this initial score boosted their confidence and helped maintain their momentum throughout the match. 'That early goal instilled a strong belief in our ability to keep pushing forward and increase our score. Our teamwork was crucial in applying consistent pressure, leading us to this championship victory,' he stated.
He further elaborated on the team's camaraderie, saying, 'The support in the dressing room was phenomenal. We communicated openly, addressed our mistakes, and strategized on how to improve during the game. This mutual trust and communication were vital in propelling us to win the final.'
