The Chief Minister's Office conveyed that Adityanath expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of a young man who fell into the drain. He has mandated the immediate suspension of the Junior Engineer and the issuance of a show cause notice to the Assistant Engineer. Additionally, the family of the victim will receive a total of ₹9 lakh in financial aid, comprising ₹5 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and ₹4 lakh from the Disaster Relief Fund. Furthermore, an FIR will be filed against the construction agency responsible for the incident, highlighting a significant failure in the administrative system that must be addressed promptly.

According to DCP Lucknow West, Vishwajeet Srivastava, the victim, identified as Suresh, was found deceased after being swept away in the rain. His body was recovered from the area where the Gomti River meets the drain. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police worked diligently to retrieve it. The local councillor has been arrested, and an FIR has been filed against him, along with the contractor responsible for the cleaning operations, citing negligence that led to this tragic event.
