Uttar Pradesh Implements Strict Reservation Guidelines

On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh government issued a formal directive mandating the strict enforcement of reservation policies in all state recruitment processes. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's instructions emphasize that the reservation rules for OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories must be rigorously applied. All additional chief secretaries and principal secretaries have been tasked with ensuring compliance. The order, issued by Principal Secretary (Appointment and Personnel) M. Devaraj, also highlights the need for strict implementation of reservations for women, persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen.


No Leniency for Non-Compliance

The government has made it clear that there will be no leniency for those who fail to adhere to the reservation provisions. Previously, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for investment and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in the state, stating that the year 2025 would be remembered for technological and data innovations. In an open letter to the citizens of Uttar Pradesh, he mentioned that preparations are underway to establish 'AI City' in Lucknow and Noida. Furthermore, under the 'AI Pragya' initiative, training will be provided to 1 million citizens in AI.


A Vision for Technological Advancement

In a letter shared on social media, the Chief Minister stated, "As we enter the year 2026, 2025 will be remembered for setting new benchmarks in technology, AI, and data innovation. Uttar Pradesh is establishing new standards for progressive development. Good governance in the state has empowered the 'UP brand' globally, making Uttar Pradesh a state of trust for investors. Preparations are ongoing to set up 'AI City' in Lucknow and Noida. A semiconductor unit is being constructed in Jewar at a cost of ₹3,700 crores. The success of the 'Indigenous Center' and the data center policy focused on secure data is becoming evident, with commercial operations of five hyperscale data center parks already underway. The Chief Minister further stated that the goal is to attract an investment of ₹30,000 crores in the data center sector.
