Celebrating Farmers' Contributions at Noida International Airport
On Monday, following the commencement of commercial flight operations at Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will honor the farmers who contributed their land for this project upon the arrival of the first flight in Lucknow. In a post on X, the Chief Minister emphasized the vital role of farmers, referring to them as 'annadata' (food providers) and highlighting their importance in the nation's development.
CM Yogi stated that farmers are the foundation of the country's prosperity. It is our collective responsibility to acknowledge their participation and contributions to the state's development journey. As the first flight carrying the farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar (Jewar) arrives in Lucknow, I will welcome and honor them, engaging in discussions as well. 'Respecting our food providers, we salute a prosperous India' – with this sentiment, we are committed to the progress of every farmer.
On Monday, the inaugural commercial flight took off from Noida International Airport to Lucknow, marking the start of commercial operations at this newly opened airport. This flight included a special delegation of farmers from the Jewar area who provided land for the airport's construction, led by local MLA Dhirendra Singh. Previously, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu met with the farmers and their families, acknowledging their contributions to the airport's development and its emergence as a significant aviation hub in the region.
Ram Mohan Naidu mentioned that the farmers who donated land for the airport would travel to Lucknow on this inaugural flight, where a special discussion with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled. This airport is set to serve as a hub for both domestic and international flights. Once completed, Jewar Airport will rank among the largest airports in Asia. He elaborated on the expansion plans, stating that the airport will initially accommodate 12 million passengers, with plans to expand the terminal once this capacity is reached. Ultimately, the goal is to increase capacity to 70 million passengers annually by the fourth phase of development.
