CM Yogi Adityanath Speaks Out Against Online Harassment

On Saturday, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, strongly condemned the trolling of Akhilesh Yadav's daughter on social media. He expressed his disapproval of the false and vulgar comments directed at her, stating that no daughter should be subjected to such degrading public discussions. During the inauguration of development projects worth over ₹955 crores in Azamgarh, he emphasized that such despicable acts against daughters will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Immediate Action Ordered Against Offenders

While addressing a public gathering, CM Yogi remarked, "I recently noticed that some individuals were making inappropriate comments about Akhilesh Yadav's daughter on social media. As soon as I became aware of this issue, I instructed the police to file FIRs against the culprits under stringent sections of the law." He further added that a daughter is a daughter, and they have been raised in a culture where every village's daughter is regarded as everyone's daughter.

Viral Manipulated Images Spark Outrage

This statement from CM Yogi came in response to a false and defamatory post targeting the former Chief Minister's daughter, which had gone viral on social media. Following this, a case was registered against three individuals. The FIR was filed with the cyber cell of the Kanpur police commissionerate after leaders from the Samajwadi Party reached out to the authorities. According to the complaint, some users had posted a morphed image of Akhilesh's daughter on X, accompanied by absurd and completely false statements.

CM Yogi's Advice to Akhilesh Yadav

In justifying the actions taken, CM Yogi also offered a stern piece of advice to Akhilesh Yadav from the stage. He stated that Akhilesh should control his party workers and social media supporters who use disrespectful language towards women, the elderly, and senior leaders. In a veiled reference to the Samajwadi Party's past image, CM Yogi remarked, "Akhilesh, you often impart wisdom to others, but you must also ensure that your followers and workers maintain decorum in their language. It would be wise for you to educate them, and if they do not heed your advice, you can hand them over to us; we will handle them appropriately."
