CM Yogi Applauds PM Modi's Sports Initiative

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh inaugurated the Eastern Zone Inter-University Basketball (Women's) Competition. During the event, he commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to enhance the sports culture in India.

Transforming Sports Culture Post-2014

CM Yogi reflected on the state of sports prior to 2014, noting that competitions were largely absent from the government's focus. He pointed out that inadequate infrastructure forced many athletes to either leave the country or feel disheartened. "Before 2014, sports were often overlooked by the government. The lack of international-standard facilities led to frustration among talented players. However, since 2014, the sports culture fostered by Prime Minister Modi has been truly impressive," he stated.
