Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Welcomes Kanwar Yatra Participants with Flower Showers

Celebrating the Kanwar Yatra

On Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warmly welcomed the devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra with a shower of flowers, praying to Lord Shiva for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the state and the nation. This event took place near the Dulheda police station in the Modi Puram area of Meerut, where the Chief Minister was seen showering flowers on the Kanwariyas amidst chants of 'Bol Bam' and 'Har-Har Mahadev'.

Accompanying him were notable figures including Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Ram in the iconic television series 'Ramayan', and Somendra Tomar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government. Govil also serves as a Member of Parliament from Meerut.

In his address, Yogi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all public representatives and social and religious organizations for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the comfort of the Kanwariyas. He extended his congratulations to all the Shiva devotees participating in the Yatra and prayed to Lord Shiva for the fulfillment of their wishes.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of creating an atmosphere of happiness, peace, prosperity, and harmony in the state and the country, stating that he was honored to be part of this significant event.

He noted that the Kanwar Yatra is nearing its conclusion, with devotees carrying holy water from Haridwar to various Shiva temples for rituals. Millions of devotees are actively participating in this journey, and he anticipates that between Ghaziabad and Haridwar, around 4 to 4.5 crore devotees will perform water offerings at the temples by the time of the Shivratri.

Yogi mentioned the large crowds at Shiv Chowk in Muzaffarnagar and expressed his joy in showering flowers on the Kanwariyas in Meerut, alongside local representatives.

He highlighted that devotees from various regions, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, are joining the Yatra, particularly at famous temples like Baba Aghornath in Meerut, Baba Doodheshwar Nath in Ghaziabad, and Pura Mahadev in Bagpat.

The Chief Minister praised the dedication of the Kanwariyas to the nation, noting that this Yatra transcends caste, region, and boundaries, fostering a spirit of unity and enthusiasm.

He also commended the administrative arrangements made for the event, stating that high-level preparations have been implemented, with social organizations setting up camps to provide facilities for the Kanwariyas. He welcomed all participants, announcing that flower showers would continue today, tomorrow, and on Shivratri, with helicopter arrangements also in place.
