Chief Minister's Visit to Meerut for Kanwar Yatra

Meerut/Lucknow, August 7 - On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will greet Kanwar pilgrims with a shower of flowers during their pilgrimage in Meerut. According to an official statement, this visit symbolizes the government's commitment to the Kanwar Yatra and reflects the faith and respect of millions of Shiva devotees.

As per the scheduled program, Adityanath will arrive in Meerut via helicopter from Hindon Airport. During this time, he will conduct an aerial survey of the entire Kanwar route from Hindon to Meerut, assessing security, traffic, and other administrative arrangements. Following this, he will shower flowers on the Shiva devotees from a platform set up near the Dulhaida police station in the Modi Puram area.

In preparation for the Chief Minister's arrival, the police and administration have finalized their arrangements. A helipad has been established at Shobhit University for his landing, and additional security forces have been deployed along the Kanwar route.

On Friday, senior officials including ADG (Meerut Zone) Bhanu Bhaskar, DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, District Magistrate Dr. VK Singh, CDO Nupur Goyal, and SSP Avinash Pandey inspected the event site, helipad, and Kanwar route to review security and other arrangements. This visit comes at a peak time for the Kanwar Yatra in western Uttar Pradesh, where millions of Shiva devotees are daily transporting holy Ganga water from Haridwar to their destinations.
