As the nation gears up for Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued stringent directives ahead of the festival. During a high-level review meeting held on Sunday, the Chief Minister instructed police officials and district magistrates across the state to remain vigilant and maintain law and order during the celebrations. He emphasized that prayers should not be conducted in open spaces on the day of Eid-ul-Adha, nor should any animal sacrifices take place outdoors. Notably, CM Yogi has outlined ten strict guidelines related to the Bakrid festivities; let’s delve into these in detail.

Guidelines for Prayer and Sacrifice

The Chief Minister mandated that prayers should only be performed within mosque premises and under no circumstances should they take place in public areas or on roads. He also ordered that roads should not be blocked for prayer, suggesting that if the number of worshippers is large, prayers should be conducted in shifts.

Emphasis on Cleanliness and Security

Furthermore, CM Yogi instructed that animal sacrifices should not occur in open areas, and a strict ban has been placed on the sacrifice of prohibited animals. Highlighting the importance of cleanliness during the festival, he directed officials to ensure that no unhygienic conditions arise post-sacrifice and to arrange proper sanitation measures. The Chief Minister also called for close monitoring of troublemakers and the deployment of adequate police forces at Eidgahs and sensitive locations. Surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones has been ordered in sensitive areas to maintain security.
