Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Celebrates Guru Purnima with Special Rituals

Celebration of Guru Purnima in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), July 29 - On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and head of the Gorakhnath Peeth, Yogi Adityanath, performed special rituals dedicated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, who is revered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva according to the traditions of the Nath sect. As per a statement released by the state government, Adityanath also conducted formal worship for his guru Mahant Avaidyanath, Dada Guru Mahant Digvijaynath, Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath, and all the gurus of the Nath tradition.

The special rituals at the Gorakhnath temple commenced early Wednesday morning and concluded with a collective aarti. On this auspicious occasion, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the citizens of the country. He first paid homage to the Adi Guru of the Nath tradition, Lord Gorakhnath, amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras, followed by the special worship.

Subsequently, he offered prayers at all the temples within the temple complex. He also paid respects at the samadhis of Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath, Mahant Digvijaynath, Mahant Avaidyanath, and other departed gurus, seeking their blessings. According to the statement, after the completion of the rituals, the traditional collective aarti for Guru Purnima was performed.
