The incident, which resulted in the loss of lives, has also led the Samajwadi Party to postpone its events for three days. Adityanath expressed his condolences for the victims, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and prayed for the strength of the grieving families. The Air India flight, bound for London, tragically crashed shortly after takeoff, impacting a residential area and involving 242 individuals on board.

Cancellation of Events in Response to the Tragedy

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has called off all his public engagements scheduled for Friday due to the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. The main opposition party, the Samajwadi Party (SP), has also decided to postpone all its events for the next three days.


An official statement from the Chief Minister's office released late Thursday confirmed that all public activities for June 13, 2025, have been canceled in light of the heartbreaking incident in Ahmedabad.


In a message shared on social media, Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the loss of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other passengers and crew members involved in the crash. He offered his heartfelt condolences, stating, 'The demise of those in the Ahmedabad plane crash is profoundly tragic. I pay my respects to them.' He further prayed to Lord Ram to grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their grieving families.


Meanwhile, SP President Akhilesh Yadav announced the suspension of all party events for the next three days as well. He expressed his condolences on social media, stating, 'We mourn the loss of every life in this painful accident. During this time of sorrow, we stand with all grieving families. All SP functions will be on hold for the next three days.'


The Air India flight, which was en route to London, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon, tragically impacting a residential area. The aircraft was carrying 242 individuals, including two pilots and ten crew members.
