On Friday, President of the United States, Donald Trump, declared that a targeted military operation resulted in the death of Niño Guerrero, the notorious head of the Tren de Aragua gang, known for its violent activities. Trump announced this on Truth Social, emphasizing that the strike was executed in close collaboration with Venezuela, ensuring that terrorists would no longer find refuge there. Trump stated, "At my direction, the United States Southern Command executed a swift and lethal strike to successfully eliminate Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of Tren De Aragua, one of the most ruthless terrorist organizations on the planet." Trump further noted, "Early in my Administration, I fulfilled my commitment to designate Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, deport thousands of dangerous criminals, and combat the Cartels that have long threatened our citizens, while previous leaders left America vulnerable." He added that this operation was closely coordinated with Venezuelan authorities, stating that Tren de Aragua members no longer have a safe haven in Venezuela or elsewhere.
