The US Department of Defense has confirmed the deaths of two American service members following an Iranian attack on a military installation in Jordan. The incident has contributed to the increasing toll from the ongoing conflict with Iran. The Pentagon identified the fallen soldiers as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, from Carrollton, Texas. They were killed during an assault on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base on Friday.
According to military reports, Gonzales passed away on the day of the attack, while Feehan succumbed to his injuries the following day. At the time of the strike, both were engaged in a US mission aimed at combating the Islamic State. The specific details surrounding their deaths have not yet been disclosed.
Feehan was part of the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, while Gonzales served with the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, based in Ansbach, Germany. Additionally, US personnel have recovered unidentified human remains at the attack site, indicating that further casualties may still be under investigation.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the US military reported that four additional service members injured in the attack were evacuated to hospitals in Jordan for medical care. Another soldier who sustained minor injuries has returned to active duty.
US Central Command later confirmed that a third American service member was killed over the weekend, although their identity has not yet been released. This death occurred in Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone, with another service member receiving treatment for minor injuries from the same incident.
This strike in Jordan represents one of the most lethal attacks on US forces in the region recently and occurs amidst escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. The Pentagon has reported that the total number of American fatalities in the conflict with Iran has now reached 17, with hundreds more injured since hostilities intensified. Investigations into both the Jordanian attack and the Iraqi drone incident are currently ongoing.
