US Diplomatic Missions in Kuwait and Bahrain Under Threat Amid Regional Tensions
Heightened Security Concerns for US Embassies
Recent reports from Iranian state media suggest that US diplomatic facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain have been targeted as part of a larger series of regional attacks. These claims arise during a period of increased military activity in the Gulf region. In response, the United States Embassy in Kuwait has issued a security alert regarding a “persistent threat of missile and UAV attacks” in the area. The advisory has cautioned American citizens to avoid approaching the embassy grounds.

The advisory explicitly stated, “DO NOT COME TO THE EMBASSY,” and recommended that individuals seek shelter in their homes on the lowest floor, away from windows, while minimizing outdoor activities.
Embassy Staff Taking Precautions
As per the advisory, personnel at the embassy in Kuwait are currently in a shelter-in-place status. The mission has also encouraged US citizens to reassess their personal security measures, stay vigilant, and keep up with official communications. So far, there has been no independent verification of missile strikes affecting the US Embassy in Kuwait or the American facility in Bahrain. Additionally, neither the US Department of State nor the Pentagon has confirmed any direct attacks on these diplomatic sites. Bahrain, which is home to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, is also on heightened alert due to the escalating situation in the region.
Further information is anticipated as US and regional officials provide updates on any potential damage or attempted strikes.
