Support from the US for India's Defense Efforts

New Delhi: On Thursday, the United States reaffirmed its support for India's right to self-defense and its ongoing battle against terrorism. This statement came during a phone call between American Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, amidst escalating tensions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

During their discussion, Singh emphasized that Pakistan has been revealed as a 'rogue' state that contributes to global terrorism and undermines regional stability.

He asserted that the international community can no longer ignore the threat posed by terrorism, as highlighted in an official statement following their conversation.

Hegseth expressed the US's solidarity with India, reiterating the American government's strong backing for India's counter-terrorism efforts, as noted in a social media update from Singh's office.

The Defense Minister informed Hegseth about Pakistan's long-standing involvement in supporting, training, and financing terrorist groups, according to the defense ministry's report.

Singh reiterated that Pakistan's actions have exposed it as a rogue state, exacerbating global terrorism and destabilizing the region. He called for the global community to 'explicitly and unequivocally' denounce such acts of terrorism.

The ministry also mentioned that Hegseth reached out to Singh to convey his condolences for the tragic loss of innocent lives in the recent Pahalgam attack.
