Urgent Rescue Mission in Ujjain: Can They Save the Trapped Toddler?
Rescue Operation in Jhalariya Village
Bhopal/Ujjain: A critical rescue operation is currently taking place in Jhalariya village, located in the Ujjain district, after a three-year-old boy fell into a borewell, becoming trapped approximately 60 feet underground. The child, named Bhagirath, had come to the area with his family just three days prior to the incident to tend to their sheep when he accidentally slipped into the open borewell.
Upon learning of the situation, local authorities quickly mobilized resources to assist in the rescue. Bhagirath, the son of Praveen Dewasi from Guranala in District Pali, Rajasthan, was playing near the borehole on Paldoona Road when the accident occurred.
To monitor the child's condition, a camera has been lowered into the borewell, and efforts are being made to establish communication with him. Villagers are actively participating in the rescue efforts, providing support to the teams on-site.
High-ranking officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and Station House Officer, have arrived at the scene, accompanied by police and rescue personnel. Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma are also present to oversee the operation.
Specialized rescue teams are working diligently, utilizing advanced equipment to ensure the child's safe extraction. A parallel pit is being excavated next to the borewell to reach Bhagirath without increasing the risk of further complications.
The incident has deeply affected the local community, with many residents gathering at the site to offer prayers and support for the rescue teams. Authorities have inserted a camera into the borehole to keep track of the child's status and attempt to communicate with him.
While officials have not yet confirmed the child's health condition, they remain optimistic and are taking every necessary precaution to ensure his safety. Collector Singh emphasized the importance of conducting the rescue with extreme care, given the borewell's depth and confined space.
He assured that specialized equipment is being employed to minimize risks during the operation.
This incident brings to light the persistent issue of open borewells in rural areas, which pose significant dangers to children. Despite ongoing warnings, uncovered borewells continue to be a threat in many regions. The current situation in Jhalariya highlights the urgent need for stricter safety regulations to prevent such incidents.
As the rescue efforts continue, the entire community is anxiously awaiting positive news. The swift response from the administration, along with the coordinated efforts of police, rescue teams, and local villagers, showcases a collective commitment to saving young Bhagirath.
