A three-day awareness and registration event is set to take place at the Electricity Board Rest House in Jasur from October 13 to 15. This initiative, part of the Seva Setu program, is organized by the Nurpur Electricity Division of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited. Its primary goal is to promote the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme while offering consumers both technical and financial assistance. The camp will be operational daily from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Vikas Thakur, the Additional Superintending Engineer, announced that attendees will have the opportunity to register on-site. Help desks will be available to assist consumers in completing online applications through the national portal. Representatives from government-approved solar companies will also be present to discuss rooftop capacity, installation expenses, equipment warranties, and the benefits of net metering.

Officials from prominent banks, including the State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank, will share information regarding solar loans and the criteria for eligibility. Advisory desks will provide further guidance on central subsidies, scheme regulations, and the advantages of net metering.

Thakur encouraged local electricity consumers from Nurpur and surrounding areas to participate in the camp, reminding them to bring their latest electricity bill and Aadhaar card for registration. He highlighted that rooftop solar installations under this scheme can significantly reduce household electricity costs, with any excess power being fed back into the grid in accordance with regulations.
