Essential Information for Bank Visits Next Week

If you plan to visit a bank next week for any important transactions, this information is crucial for you. Banks across various regions will remain closed for two days next week due to holidays commemorating the birth anniversaries of regional leaders. Additionally, banks are closed on Sundays. Therefore, it's advisable to check the schedule beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.

When and Where Will Banks Be Closed?

According to the Reserve Bank of India's holiday list, banks in Agartala will be closed on Monday, May 26, in honor of the renowned Bengali revolutionary poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's birth anniversary. He is often referred to as the 'Rebel Poet' and is highly regarded for his contributions to the Indian freedom struggle.

Following this, banks in Shimla will not operate on Thursday, May 29, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap, a symbol of Rajput valor. This day is observed with great reverence in Rajasthan and surrounding areas.

Will Banks Be Open on May 31?

Many people assume that banks are closed on Saturdays, but this is not the case every week. May 31, 2025, falls on the fifth Saturday of the month, and according to RBI regulations, banks are only closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. Therefore, banks will be open as usual on this day.

Online Banking Services Available

Even though bank branches may be closed, customers need not worry. Online banking services, including net banking, mobile banking, and UPI, will remain operational during the holidays. Customers can continue to perform tasks such as fund transfers, demand drafts, and checkbook requests online.
