UP STF Takes Down Gang Member Linked to Truck Driver Killings

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh has successfully neutralized a gang member with a bounty of ₹1 lakh, known for murdering truck drivers and robbing them on highways. This information was disclosed in an official statement.


According to the STF, a confrontation occurred on Sunday night between their Noida unit and local police in the Baghpat district, where the gang members were located.


During the encounter, one of the criminals sustained severe injuries from gunfire. He was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Amitabh Yash, the Additional Director General of Police (STF), confirmed that other gang members managed to escape the scene.


The deceased has been identified as Sandeep, a resident of Maham town in Rohtak district, Haryana. He was wanted in connection with the theft of a truck carrying nickel plates valued at approximately ₹4 crore in the Panki area of Kanpur. The statement noted that Sandeep had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head and was implicated in over 16 cases of truck driver murders and robberies across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
