UP Prometheans: A Fresh Addition to Ultimate Table Tennis

Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) is gearing up for Season 7, introducing a vibrant new team, UP Prometheans, which aims to infuse the spirit and enthusiasm of Uttar Pradesh into the league. This season, set to take place in July in Goa, represents a significant milestone in UTT's mission to create a competitive and engaging league.

The franchise, owned by entrepreneur Mukesh Sharma, embodies a long-term vision to enhance India's high-performance sports landscape. With UP Prometheans replacing Chennai in the lineup, UTT is not only expanding its regional representation but also introducing a new competitive element. Season 7 will also feature an updated format with an expanded group stage.

Enhancing India's Sports Landscape

"We are thrilled to welcome UP Prometheans to UTT, extending our reach into Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in India, which has tremendous sporting potential. This addition aligns with our goal of creating a league that genuinely reflects the diversity of our nation. The growing interest from stakeholders who share our vision is encouraging, and UTT continues to evolve both on and off the table," stated Ekansh Gupta, CEO of Ultimate Table Tennis.

Additionally, UP Prometheans will participate in the Dream UTT Juniors, a grassroots initiative by the Dream Sports Foundation in partnership with UTT, aimed at fostering young table tennis talent nationwide. Mukesh Sharma expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Joining Ultimate Table Tennis, which has set high standards in previous seasons, is exciting. With UP Prometheans, we aim to elevate the bar and build a team committed to excellence and high-performance sports, contributing to India's Olympic aspirations."

Season 7's New Format

The upcoming Season 7 will feature seven teams competing in a single round-robin format, where each team will face every other team once during the league phase. The total number of matches will rise to 24, an increase from the 23 matches held in the previous two seasons.
