After the customary welcome and the exchange of garlands, the bride's friends began conversing with the groom during the ceremony and grew suspicious of his lack of education.

The bride's friends handed the groom ten hundred-rupee notes and asked him to count them. Despite three attempts, he failed each time. When asked about the name of the district, he incorrectly answered 'Pandal.' He continued to provide wrong answers to all questions posed to him. Witnessing this, the bride mustered her courage and decided to refuse the marriage.

Many guests present applauded the bride's decision. Following this, a man from the wedding party offered his educated son as a potential match for the bride, to which her family agreed.
