The incident took place at the Kali and Sheetala temple located in Tankisai Barajamada, Ranchi. The thief, under the influence of substances, managed to break the temple's lock, took money from the donation box, and removed gold and silver jewelry from the idol of Goddess Sheetala. However, as he attempted to escape, the effects of intoxication and sleeping pills overwhelmed him, causing him to doze off right there.

Villagers Discover the Sleeping Thief
On Tuesday morning, villagers noticed the temple door ajar and found a man deeply asleep inside. Upon suspicion, they checked his bag, which was filled with temple items. This shocking discovery alarmed the villagers, prompting them to immediately inform the local police officer, Baleshwar Oraon.

Thief Falls Asleep During the Heist
The police arrived at the scene and apprehended the thief. They have filed charges against him for theft and property damage, and further actions are underway. The accused, identified as Veer Nayak, is a resident of Tankisai. He had consumed a significant amount of alcohol with friends before scaling the temple wall to enter. During the search, police recovered the stolen money from the donation box, gold and silver ornaments, and sleeping pills.
