He has expressed discomfort, stating that he finds her body odor unbearable. The husband has reportedly pleaded, "I cannot live with her anymore... please help me get a divorce!"

This case has now reached the Women Protection Cell, where counseling sessions are being conducted in hopes of reconciling the couple. The incident took place in the Chandos area of Aligarh district. According to reports, the couple was married two years ago, and while things were initially fine, conflicts began to arise over time, leading to disputes about each other's habits and lifestyle.

Unusual Grounds for Divorce

Despite welcoming a son during their marriage, the couple's arguments persisted. As their disagreements escalated, the situation prompted intervention from the police and the Women Protection Cell. During counseling, the husband shocked everyone by citing his wife's infrequent bathing as the primary reason for his request for divorce.

Husband's Claims

The husband told the counselor, "Madam, my wife does not bathe daily, and I find her body odor offensive. I cannot continue living with her. Please assist me in obtaining a divorce." In contrast, the wife accused him of harassing her based on unfounded claims. The counselor attempted to mediate between the couple.

Similar Cases in the Past

This is not the first instance of such a case; a similar situation occurred two years ago in the Masaurhi area of Patna. There, a wife accused her husband of domestic violence and sought help from the women's commission. The husband, when summoned, claimed that his wife's refusal to bathe was a source of their conflicts. The commission advised the wife to improve her habits and instructed the husband to refrain from violence.
