Unusual Claims in Viral Police Beating Incident in Unnao

The investigation into the viral video showing a young man being beaten at the Ram Pur police station in Unnao has taken an unexpected twist. The individual who was assaulted claimed in a statement to the Circle Officer (CO) that it was not him but a spirit that was hurling abuses inside the station. He insisted that the police were not beating him, but rather the spirit.

UP News: The inquiry into the viral footage of the young man's beating at the Bihar police station in Unnao has taken an intriguing turn. The victim stated to the CO that it was not him but a spirit that was cursing inside the station. He asserted that the police had targeted the spirit instead of him, claiming he was unaware of the situation. The CO mentioned that statements have been recorded, where the young man attributes the beating to the spirit. A forensic examination of the video will be conducted.

On April 13, a video surfaced showing a young man screaming in an unusual manner inside the Bihar police station. He was also using foul language. During the interrogation, the officer in charge began questioning him, and upon hearing the story about the spirit, he was subjected to physical punishment. The investigation was assigned to CO Madhupnath Mishra, who confirmed that statements from all police personnel, the victim, and his family have been documented. The officer in charge, Rahul Singh, stated that the incident occurred on February 20, when the young man was brought in for disturbing the peace.

He was accused of taking 10,000 rupees from a local resident under the pretense of facilitating a land deed but failed to return the money or complete the deed. When asked for the money, he allegedly responded with abusive language. According to the CO, the young man in the video blamed the spirit for his predicament, claiming that it often possesses him. He insisted that it was the spirit that was cursing in the police station, and the police were actually beating the spirit, not him. His family mentioned that he has been mentally unstable for some time and often speaks nonsensically.

In this case, CO Madhupnath Mishra remarked that the young man is making incoherent statements. He has attributed the blame to the spirit. Statements from the police officers, the young man, and his family have been collected. However, it remains unclear who recorded the video and when it was made public. The authenticity of the video and whether it has been tampered with will be verified through forensic analysis. A comprehensive report will be submitted to the authorities soon.
