A man who played under the shade of a Peepal tree in his childhood decided to build his home around it as an adult. The Kesharwani family in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has successfully constructed a remarkable tree house without cutting down the 125-year-old tree.

Tree House Built Without Cutting the Tree

Located in the Panagar area near Jabalpur, this extraordinary house can rightly be called a tree house. The owner has ingeniously built the structure around the massive Peepal tree, preserving it entirely.

This three-story building showcases the tree's roots on the ground floor and its branches on the upper levels, serving as a testament to environmental conservation.

The Tree as a Family Member

The Kesharwani family treats the 125-year-old Peepal tree as a living member of their household. They care for it, and in return, it provides them with oxygen around the clock. The tree's branches extend out of the home's windows.

Foundation Laid 27 Years Ago

The foundation of this unique home was laid 27 years ago by the late Dr. Motilal Kesharwani. His son shared that Motilal grew up under the tree's shade and wanted to keep it intact while constructing their home.

Despite challenges posed by the tree's location, the family decided against cutting it down. Instead, they opted to build around it, enlisting an engineer to help realize their vision.

Eco-Friendly and Spiritual Significance

Notably, the house is entirely eco-friendly, and it has gained popularity throughout the city. A temple is also located beneath the house, attracting visitors for worship.

No part of the tree was harmed during construction, ensuring that elements of the tree are visible throughout the home, from the dining room to other areas.

The Peepal tree holds spiritual significance, believed to be home to 33 crore deities. The family performs daily rituals to honor it, and scientifically, it is known to release oxygen both day and night.

A Message of Conservation

The family hopes to convey a message through their home: while destruction is easy, creation is a challenge.
