Unique Sight: Bears Visit Chandi Devi Temple Daily
Bears Join Devotees at Chandi Devi Temple
A family of bears makes a daily visit to the Chandi Devi Temple, located here. It has been reported that this temple in the Mahasamund district is not only a place of faith for people but also holds significance for animals. Every day, thousands of visitors flock to the temple to seek blessings from the goddess, and they are often amazed to witness the bears' devotion.
According to sources, this temple is approximately 150 years old. Inside the temple, there is a beautiful natural idol of Goddess Chandi. Visitors come not only to receive blessings but also to catch a glimpse of the bears.
People often wait for hours for the bear family to arrive at the temple. The temple priest mentions that the bears typically arrive during the evening aarti (prayer ceremony). Remarkably, these bears participate in the aarti, and once the prayers conclude, they take the prasad (offering) and return to the forest without causing any harm.
