Union Minister Criticizes Rahul Gandhi's Remarks on Odisha Student's Death

Minister's Strong Response to Political Comments
On Tuesday, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed strong disapproval of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comments regarding the tragic death of a 20-year-old student in Balasore, Odisha. Pradhan accused Gandhi of exploiting a sensitive issue for cheap political gains and demanded an apology from him. He emphasized that this incident has shaken the entire nation, yet the Congress party is using it for political advantage. Pradhan further criticized Gandhi for his trivial mindset.
In a post on X, Pradhan stated that the petty politics surrounding the unfortunate incident involving the daughter of Odisha is deeply regrettable. He pointed out that turning a serious and sensitive matter into a political weapon reflects Gandhi's cheap mentality. While the incident has disturbed the nation, Congress has seized the opportunity to further its political agenda. He noted that Prime Minister Modi and the BJP have consistently taken concrete steps for women's safety and justice, whereas Congress has always sought to exploit every tragedy for its benefit.
The BJP leader asserted that the Odisha government stands firmly with the affected family, promising strict action against the culprits, ensuring that no one will be spared. He stressed that this is not the time for petty politics but rather for delivering justice to the victim's family. Pradhan insisted that Rahul Gandhi should immediately apologize to the grieving family for his irresponsible remarks.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, the former president of Congress, alleged that the BJP's 'system' was responsible for the death of the student who self-immolated in Balasore. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence on the matter and provide answers. The student, who had reportedly faced 'sexual harassment' by a teacher, succumbed to her injuries after battling for her life for three days at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar.
