Minister's Strong Rebuttal to Opposition Leader

On Tuesday, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat criticized opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, labeling his comments about selling the country and harming farmers as disgraceful, tarnishing India's reputation. Shekhawat questioned whether Gandhi's repeated statements could be overlooked despite their disconnect from reality, expressing concerns about the political discourse of the opposition leader.

Shekhawat took to X, stating that phrases like “the country has been sold,” “farmers have been destroyed,” and “the textile industry has been ruined” reflect Gandhi's rhetoric. He emphasized that the nation is aware that Gandhi's mental capacity is unfit for constructive politics. He raised the question of whether it is acceptable for someone to speak in a manner that undermines the country's credibility, suggesting that Gandhi's immaturity and repeated failures in reality checks should not be excused.

The BJP leader remarked that there is a limit to forgiveness. He noted that even within Congress, Gandhi is not taken seriously, but there is a need to consider his mental health. Speaking recklessly does not harm the country, but it certainly leads to embarrassment, indicating that the opposition leader appears 'disturbed.' These comments followed Gandhi's video post on social media, where he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP regarding the framework of the India-US trade agreement.

In his accusations, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the central government has sold the country. In a video message on Monday, responding to the BJP's description of the Indian Youth Congress protests as 'shameful,' he labeled the trade agreement framework as disgraceful. He challenged Modi, asking, 'Do you know what shame is? Your name, your minister's name, and your friend's name appearing together in the Epstein files, associating with such a vile criminal—this is shameful. The trade agreement you made with the US has sold out the country.'
