Minister's Response to Rahul Gandhi's Claims

On Monday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of inciting the youth against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government through baseless remarks. In response to Gandhi's assertion that rising inflation would lead to the downfall of the BJP-led government within a year, Singh stated that Gandhi fails to understand the country. He claimed that Gandhi aims to provoke the youth against Modi and instigate conflict. Singh emphasized that the nation holds affection for the Prime Minister, and during challenging times, the country has remained steadfast. He made these comments while addressing journalists in Patna, Bihar.

Gandhi's Comments and Congress Party's Position

Singh referred to Rahul Gandhi as 'Rahul Miyan' and criticized the Congress Party, labeling it as a 'Maoist Muslim Congress.' He reiterated that the nation stands with Prime Minister Modi, asserting that Gandhi is no longer a significant figure in Congress but has transformed into 'Rahul Miyan.' He warned that Gandhi should not be under any illusion— the country is united behind Modi. Gandhi's remarks were made during a meeting of the Congress Party's minority department advisory council on May 23, where he claimed that if the current economic conditions persist, the government would not survive until next year.

Congress Leaders' Reactions

Other attendees at the meeting included Congress leaders KC Venugopal, Abhishek Singhvi, Tariq Anwar, Imran Masood, and the head of the minority department, Shayar Imran. Following the meeting, Congress MP Tariq Anwar told a news agency that Gandhi urged leaders to combat any form of oppression or injustice against any group. He emphasized the need for Congress to unite and fight against injustices faced by minorities or even higher castes, stating that while divisions are being created, there is a necessity to build bridges.

Concerns Over Government Stability

Regarding the stability of the government, Anwar expressed that if the current situation in the country remains unchanged or worsens, the government would not last until next year. Congress MP Imran Masood criticized the central government for rising fuel prices and inflation during the meeting.
