Minister's Strong Remarks on Film

On Monday, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu launched a fierce critique against actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh regarding the film 'Satluj'. He accused the film of presenting misleading information, asserting that its claims are entirely deceptive. Bittu expressed that he no longer holds any respect for Dosanjh, suggesting that the actor may have been influenced by pro-Khalistani sentiments, which led to his decision to participate in the film.

Concerns Over Film's Release

The minister raised concerns about the film's hasty release, stating that it was launched prematurely. He emphasized that the facts depicted in the film are misleading. Bittu pointed out that the film connects the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with 'Operation Blue Star', alleging that it provides an incomplete account of the violence that occurred during that time.

Call for Acknowledgment of Innocent Lives

Bittu noted that while the film discusses police and terrorists, it fails to mention the innocent lives lost. He questioned why the film does not address the deaths of these innocent individuals. Ahead of the Ardas ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, he appealed to the Sri Akal Takht Sahib to pray for all the innocent lives that were lost. He urged that the Ardas should include prayers for these victims.

Clarification on Intentions

Despite his objections to the film's portrayal, Bittu clarified that his issue is not with Dosanjh personally. He stated that there is no animosity towards the actor and emphasized that he does not wish to politicize the matter. Additionally, he mentioned plans to meet with the family of Jaswant Singh Khalra, supporting the demand for a commission to address Khalra's suffering.
