Union Minister Criticizes Congress for Politicizing National Security Issues
Minister Patel Condemns Political Maneuvering
On Sunday, Union Minister Anupriya Patel expressed strong disapproval of Congress leaders for allegedly politicizing Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that this matter is closely tied to the nation's security and dignity, and should not be subjected to political games. Speaking to reporters, Patel highlighted that Operation Sindoor is fundamentally about safeguarding the country’s integrity. She accused Congress of engaging in unnecessary political discourse regarding this critical issue.
Patel noted that during a recent visit by a parliamentary delegation to foreign nations, India received significant backing for its stance against terrorism.
International Support for India's Anti-Terrorism Stance
The minister remarked that the countries visited by the Indian delegation not only commended India's anti-terrorism policies but also expressed their solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism. Patel asserted that the global community has recognized India's robust response to terrorism, stating, "India has taken substantial and calculated actions against terrorism. Today, all nations are affected by this issue and are acknowledging our efforts. We need to unite on matters of national security."
Emphasizing Unity and National Pride
Patel also stressed the importance of unity and nationalism, particularly during international engagements. She mentioned that when representing India abroad, it is crucial to uphold the nation’s dignity and reflect the government's commitment to combating terrorism. The Indian delegation has effectively conveyed its position. Operation Sindoor was initiated on May 7, targeting nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to a devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in 26 fatalities.
