Union Home Ministry Initiates Mock Drills Amid Rising Tensions with Pakistan

Mock Drills Scheduled Amid Security Concerns
New Delhi: In light of escalating tensions with Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam terror incident, the Union Home Ministry has instructed various states to carry out mock drills on May 7, according to government sources on Monday.
The drills will focus on activating air raid warning systems and educating civilians on civil defense measures to ensure their safety during a potential 'hostile attack.'
Additional preparations will include implementing crash blackout protocols, early camouflage of critical facilities, and updating and rehearsing evacuation plans.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conducting a series of high-level discussions with senior defense officials as India considers its response to the April 22 terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, primarily tourists.
Modi has pledged to track down the attackers and those involved in the conspiracy, promising to deliver retribution 'beyond their imagination.'
