Alcohol Storage Limits in Haryana
For residents of Haryana, it is essential to know the limits for home alcohol storage. Individuals can keep up to six bottles of country liquor and eighteen bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor at home. If one wishes to store more than this, a permit must be obtained for an annual fee of ₹200 or a lifetime fee of ₹2000.
Alcohol Storage Regulations in Delhi
In the capital city of Delhi, individuals are permitted to store a maximum of 18 liters of alcohol at home, which includes wine, alcopops, and beer. However, one cannot keep more than 9 liters of Indian or foreign rum, whiskey, vodka, or gin. Additionally, residents can only transport one liter of alcohol outside Delhi, while travelers returning from abroad can bring in up to two liters.
Punjab's Alcohol Storage Rules

Residents can store two bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor or two bottles of any size of imported liquor, along with one case (650 ML) of beer or two bottles of country liquor at home. In Uttar Pradesh, individuals are allowed to keep up to six liters of alcohol at home. This includes provisions for purchase, transportation, and personal possession. For storage beyond this limit, a license is necessary, which costs ₹12,000 annually.
Alcohol Storage Regulations in Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, individuals can store up to twelve bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) at home, with specific rules for different types of alcohol. For parties, a license can be obtained for ₹2000, while additional taxes may apply for business-related events.
Goa's Alcohol Storage Limits
In Goa, individuals can store up to 24 bottles of beer, 12 bottles of IMFL, and 18 bottles of country liquor at home. In contrast, Maharashtra allows only eight bottles of alcohol to be stored at home.
