Umpire's Incident Steals the Show
During the second match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025, featuring IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) and Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) at SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore, spectators witnessed a light-hearted moment involving the square leg umpire.
The amusing event unfolded in the 15th over when ITT's left-handed batsman Uthirasamy Sasidev attempted a sweep shot against CSG's bowler Swapnil Singh. Unfortunately, the ball struck umpire Krishnamachari Srinivasan on his right elbow, causing him to fall to the ground, which led to a moment of panic on the field.
Fortunately, Srinivasan quickly recovered and assured everyone that he was fine to continue officiating. Commentators, recognizing the humor in the situation, joked, "Is there any concussion sub for the umpires?" This quip had the crowd and viewers laughing, making it one of the most talked-about moments of the match.
