The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 Auction marked a significant milestone as 15-year-old Uma Kashvi from Karnataka became the youngest player ever acquired in the auction's history. Intense bidding took place among all five franchises on Wednesday at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.

Out of the 150 players, five franchises selected 25 players to complete their rosters, with Delhi Capitals acquiring the teenage all-rounder for her base price of INR 10 lakh during the accelerated bidding round.
Uma Kashvi's First WPL Contract
As franchises like Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz made headlines with their acquisitions, Uma Kashvi captured attention by becoming the youngest player ever signed in WPL history.
Initially registered at a base price of INR 10 lakh, Kashvi went unsold in the first round but was later picked up by Delhi Capitals in the accelerated round.
Alongside her peer Anshu Nagar, both aged 15, Kashvi is among the youngest participants in the WPL 2027 auction. The auction is renowned for discovering emerging domestic talent, and Delhi Capitals seized the chance to bid for her.
