Ukraine's Bold Attack on Russian Oil Refinery

Kyiv: On Thursday, Ukraine executed a coordinated drone and missile strike targeting a Russian oil refinery, as confirmed by officials from both Moscow and Kyiv.

This military action followed a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who declared that a temporary truce regarding energy infrastructure had ended, a situation exacerbated by rising tensions with the United States.

According to Russia's Defence Ministry, Ukraine launched a significant offensive against the refinery located in the Ryazan region, southeast of Moscow, early in the morning. They reported that their air defenses intercepted four Ukrainian Flamingo missiles and 69 drones aimed at the facility, although debris from the drones ignited a fire at the site.

A high-ranking Ukrainian official, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the information, confirmed that the Ryazan refinery was indeed struck during the overnight operation.
