Udhayanidhi Stalin's Campaign in Tirupattur

On April 1, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, campaigned at the Natarampalli bus stand in Tirupattur, supporting DMK candidates Nallathambi and Kavitha Thandapani for the upcoming assembly elections. During his speech, he criticized AIADMK's General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, asserting that he should be defeated in all constituencies. Stalin highlighted the DMK's electoral promises, mentioning that the current assistance scheme for women, which provides ₹1,000, will be increased to ₹2,000 if the party comes to power. He also stated that the existing breakfast scheme for school children from classes 1 to 5 will be extended up to class 8 under a DMK government.

He further announced that ₹8,000 coupons would be provided to help people purchase essential household items like TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines. Responding to opposition criticism, he noted that while laptops were previously distributed to school students, under the Dravidian-style government, 1 million college students have received laptops. He concluded his speech by urging voters to decisively support DMK candidates Nallathambi and Kavitha Thandapani, who are seeking backing as the son and grandson of the current and former Chief Ministers, respectively.

During a party rally in Tiruvannamalai on Tuesday, Udhayanidhi Stalin sharply criticized opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, stating that while many aggressive supporters and party workers have emerged, Palaniswami stands like a submissive servant of the BJP. He further accused AIADMK leaders of being subservient to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attempting to bring the BJP into Tamil Nadu. Elections for all 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu will take place in a single phase on April 23, with counting scheduled for May 4.
