UDF Unveils Promises for Kerala Assembly Elections
Key Proposals from the UDF Manifesto
The United Democratic Front (UDF), led by Congress, has released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala, scheduled for April 9. The document includes several significant commitments, such as offering free travel for women on state transport buses, increasing welfare pensions to ₹3,000 per month, and providing monthly assistance of ₹1,000 to college-going female students.
Congress leader V D Satheesan elaborated on the manifesto, stating that every family in Kerala will be eligible for an insurance scheme worth ₹25 lakh. Additionally, small businesses will have access to interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh. The manifesto also promises to enhance the aviation sector in the state, revise salaries for workers like ASHA and Anganwadi staff, provide financial support to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with a turnover of ₹100 crore, and establish a tribal university in Wayanad.
