Thackeray's Strong Remarks Against BJP

On Monday, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), took a jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the party has abandoned its former ideology of 'Nation First' in favor of a new slogan that prioritizes 'Thugs and Thieves First.'

While addressing a joint rally with Raj Thackeray, the head of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), in Thane, Uddhav accused the BJP of creating a divisive atmosphere based on language and religion. He asserted that the old BJP, which once placed national interests above all, is now 'dead.'

Focus on Local Leadership

Uddhav emphasized that the next mayors of Mumbai and Thane must be Maharashtrians. Targeting his rival, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in his own constituency, he warned that the BJP would adopt a 'use and throw' policy with Shinde.

He declared, 'We are not supporters of Modi or the BJP; we are patriots and devotees of Maharashtra.' Uddhav urged the public to vote for the Shiv Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance, stating that this election would determine the future direction of their lives.

Critique of the Current Government

Describing the current state government as the most shameless in history, Uddhav pointed out that pollution and mismanagement have turned Mumbai and Thane into garbage dumps.

Earlier, Raj Thackeray criticized industrialist Gautam Adani and the central government, alleging that the Adani Group has seized control of the country's airports and ports under duress. In response to BJP sharing images with Adani, Raj remarked, 'Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani have also visited my home, but that doesn't mean I will hide anyone's sins. When Mumbai and Thane are in danger, I won't care about friendships.'

Call to Action Against BJP's Plans

Raj Thackeray accused the BJP of attempting to connect Mumbai and its neighboring cities to Gujarat. He urged the Gujarati community to oppose this 'conspiracy.' He stated, 'We are not against other languages, but if we are threatened in our own homes, we will not tolerate it.' Both brothers accused Eknath Shinde and the BJP of buying opponents with money during elections.
