Abu Dhabi: On Monday, the Ministry of Defence of the UAE reported that its air defense systems successfully identified 15 ballistic missiles, intercepting 12 of them, while three fell into the sea.


The statement from the Ministry highlighted the detection of 18 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), with 17 intercepted and one landing within the nation's borders.


Since the onset of Iranian missile attacks, a total of 253 ballistic missiles have been tracked, with 233 destroyed, 18 landing in the sea, and 2 within the UAE. Additionally, 1,440 Iranian UAVs were detected, of which 1,359 were intercepted, while 81 fell inside the country. The report also noted the destruction of 8 cruise missiles.


These assaults have resulted in the deaths of four individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, with 117 others suffering minor injuries. The injured parties include nationals from various countries such as the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, and more.


The UAE's Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its commitment to counter any threats, emphasizing a strong response to any actions that could jeopardize the nation's security and sovereignty.


The current conflict in West Asia escalated following joint US-Israel military actions against Iran on February 28, prompting Iran to retaliate with drone and missile strikes targeting US interests and allied forces in the region.


UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated on Saturday that the security of the UAE and the safety of its citizens and visitors are paramount. He expressed the nation's readiness to confront any threats.


In a message shared on X, he reassured residents and visitors, stating, "The UAE prioritizes the security and protection of all citizens, residents, and visitors. With divine support, we are prepared to face these challenges."


He commended the UAE's armed forces and security agencies for their efforts in maintaining safety and acknowledged the vigilance of the UAE's populace.


The President expressed gratitude for the loyalty and love shown by the Emirati community and residents, emphasizing that everyone contributes to the nation's strength.


He concluded with a heartfelt message for the victims, wishing for their recovery and affirming that the UAE will remain united and resilient in defending its sovereignty and progressing towards a brighter future.
